Persona Poem

Every day I wake up to people grabbing me,
 and throwing me very far,
kicking me,
and handing me off,
and being tackled over and over again,
I love my job though,
being thrown and ran with,
this is what I'll always be,
 a football.
Sorry but I couldn't get it downloaded.

Concrete Poem

Running and jumping,
hurdling and spinning,
breaking tackles and scoring touchdowns,
and tackling,
throwing and kicking,
football,
winning,
scoring,
field goals.
Sorry, I couldn't get the picture downloaded.

Nebraska Poem about Football

The sea of red,
the boneyard,
it must be feared,
the 340 some consecutive sellouts,
the tension of the game,
the excitement of a touchdown,
a player making a great play,
and,
the game winner.
Nebraska Football

Free-verse Poem(Running Back)

Reading the defense,
I must find the hole right now,
and get to it before it closes,
if it isn't there, bounce it to the outside,
hurdle the linebacker,
and juke the oncoming safety,
creep to the sidelines,
sprint for a touchdown,
and pray nobody catches you.

Extended Metaphor

Happiness is Hunting

Happiness is Hunting,
being patient brings out the animals,
guns make the shot,
ammunition makes the gun,
Camo is for hunting,
and,
Happiness is Hunting

"Found Poem" Credit to Elie Wiesel

American soldiers and different languages,
always be grateful to them,
their Commander-in-Cheifs abiding graditude,
 a new millennium,
a new legacy, or a vanishing century,
two world wars and countless civil wars,
break us apart.
A meaningless symphony, disarm it,
the ghettoes anguish,
while Hitler's dictatorship was abandoned.

Weather Poem" Late Summer, Early Fall, Sunny and 75"

Its not hot
Its not cold
wind rustling, leaves falling
you smell the corn and dew of early morning,
and exhaust of combines and tractors
you see birds flying
deer grazing
Grass dying and corn crops being harvested
you hear the combines and tractors
and the birds chirping in the evening

Name Poem

It means funny, hunter, sporty
It means the number 7
It is bright and cheerful
It is the time I shot my first deer
It is in memory of SGT Adam J Bosley
Who taught me honesty and bravery
When he gave his life for his country

American Freedom

Matthew W
2nd Period

American Freedom
I remember seeing that casket.  The casket that held my uncle. The casket that was being lowered into the ground to where I would never see my uncle until I died. That is the cost of freedom. Freedom is shown by my brave uncle, who paid the ultimate price so we could be free, freedom is not free and also, say thank you to the soldiers.
My uncle paid the price, so we could be free. His name was SGT Adam J. Bosley. He was an Iraq veteran. His service in Iraq added up to three tours of duty. He was a United States Marine, and was preparing for a tour of duty in Afghanistan. He died just a few miles away from base camp.
“Freedom is not free.” Freedom is everything to us. Choosing your church, freedom of speech, and going to school where we want. We are very lucky to be free. It’s all because of the men and women risking their lives for us, so we can do those things like choosing our church and school, and so on. There will be lives lost in the present and coming wars, but, as said, Freedom is not free.
Say thank you to any soldier you see! A retired veteran, present troop, have and are risking their lives for us. Troops coming home have the hardest time. Especially the ones coming home from a major war. Seeing their brothers/friends getting killed is one of the hardest things in the world. They are one of the top stats of suicide. Mostly because of things that happened over seas or in war. So please, say thank you to every veteran you see!

So as said before, freedom is shown by my uncle paying the price so we could be free. Freedom is not free, and saying thank you to all soldiers and veterans. Our people are out there dying and risking their lives, so we could be free. So please, don't take it for granted.

Ghost Story

Matthew W
Period 2

Ghost Story
Have you ever heard the legend of Cowboy Chucky? Well, do you want to? There was this teenager about 10 years ago. He lived on a farm. Everybody called him Cowboy Chucky, because he dressed like a cowboy and his name was Charles. And by his actions, the name didn't bother him! He died when he was sixteen years old in a football accident. He tackled the ball carrier, and it broke his neck. He died the next day. And from then on, he was the ghost of O’Neill High School.
His hair is dirty blonde. He still dresses like the cowboy he once was! He is 6feet 4inches tall. He is very tan. He does’t show his face very much. Only in 6-8 period. He normally hides in the underground tunnels. When he first comes out, he is normally sad. But then, after scaring the seveis and talking to the seniors, he cheers up. When he does, he is a Gentleman. He always holds the doors for the ladies. Some times he can be quite awkward saying wrong things, stepping in wrong places, just random things like that. He doesn't seem like a guy who's voice is deep, but when he talks, it could surprise you! It is so deep, it sounds like the Allstate commercial guy!

Cowboy Chucky likes to scare the sevies. He likes to appear out of nowhere while the 7th graders are on their way to Mrs. Kelly’s reading class. He will appear, jump on the sevie, and say,” Giddie up Sevie!” He likes to play catch with the seniors. He will go out and help with the Junior Varsity football team. And afterwards, he shows them helpful advice that he learned in high school. And so, if you see Cowboy Chucky in the hallways, and you’re a senior, please say,” Hello Cowboy Chucky, have a great day!” But if you are a sevie, you better run for your life!!! And that is the legend of Cowboy Chucky.

Werewolves

Werewolves
Werewolves kill easily
Werewolves kill easily, eagerly
Kill easily, eagerly, hungrily
Easily, eagerly, hungrily, and blood-thirstily
When the moon shines bright during a powder like full moon.

Hogwarts at Halloween

Halloween at Hogwarts

As Ron and I entered the Great Hall, we were automatically amazed! It was our first year at Hogwarts. And I knew that right away, this was going to be the most radical Halloween ever!!! Most of the older people were having a food fight, but that didn't seem very interesting, getting smashed with potatoes and tomatoes. So we went to talk to Nearly Headless Nick. I tell you, that he is the most frightening person in the world. Just the name freaks me out! We talked for a while, and we soon left, because I was getting a chill down my back. Then, when we got back in the Great Hall, the decorations changed.

The ceiling was stormy with lighting  and thunder rolling around. The ceiling was so radiant that it hurt my eyes. Fruit bats fluttered around. I warned people not to eat them, for they would probably get Ebola. Which is a sickness that makes you puke blood. Yuck! Ghosts flew around howling. Some kids were going on a witch hunt. Then, we went the food tables, and wow!
The tables were filled with the most delicious food in the world. There was Candy corn and Hershey’s chocolate. Hot beef and prime rib with steak on the side. Lasagna and shrimp with potatoes, corn, Biscuits and gravy, and just about anything else you can imagine. You could still hear the ghosts oohing and booing. The food smelled so good, it made me want more! But I was so full!!!!  I felt like I swallowed the Earth! The only thing that tasted nasty, were the every flavor jelly beans. The ten I had, the worst were Vomit, meatball salad, booger, and fried worm stew. That was indeed a great Halloween with my friend! Better than what I get at the Muggle place. Wait, where is Hermione?

Mini Miss Muffet

"Mini Miss Muffet..."

Mini Miss Muffet
Laid on a tuffet,
Slopping of curds and whey;
There came a
Violin spider,
And
creeped down beside her,
And
killed Miss Muffet today.

My Unforgettable School Day

Right here in Nebraska, around 200 deaths occur every year. Over 16,000 more are injured. My family almost made up five extreme deaths in 2011. Right now, as we speak, the rate for deaths and injuries are increasing.
It was a regular school morning, everything was the same as any other cold February day. We were on our way to school. If I can remember right, we were on time. One second, I looked over, and I saw a semi truck. It was coming up on an intersection. I only got a brief glimpse. We figured it would stop as the signs say. But he didn’t.
Thats when the Freightliner hit us. Ugly trucks they are. He had not stopped at his stop sign, and T-Boned us(smashed us from the side). The impact was so hard that it threw us sixty-eight feet into the ditch. I must’ve went into shock, because when I opened my eyes, people were already surrounded the car. The reason that our vehicle didn't roll was because of the snow. But when my eyes opened, everyone was screaming and yelling,”Call 911!!!!!”
Ambulances rushed us straight to the E.R. My baby brother, my dad, who had just gotten there as soon as the ambulances did, rode in the Page unit. They gave him a new pacifier, and I got a Curious George stuffed monkey. My other brother, my sister, and my mom, rode with the O’Neill Ambulances. I had a bloody nose, and a huge bump on my forehead. My seven month old baby brother just had a bump on his head. My mom had several broken ribs! My five year old sister had around thirteen stitches on her face. My three year old brother had a broken left arm. I remember that once the doctors said I was fine, and cleaned me up, they said I could go see my other family.

My family, including my dad, who has also been in an accident, are lucky to be alive. Want to know how? I’ll give you two guesses. If you said Seat Belts, you were mostly correct. The other part was safe driving. Seat Belts SAVE  LIVES!!!!! That was my unforgettable school day. Well, sort of!

My bedroom

Matt Wilson
Eng7 Period 2
My Bedroom

Here is my room. My room is filled with amazing treasures, from trophies to flags. The first thing you will see in my room is my Uncles Funeral flag. It is special to me because it was the American flag on my uncles Casket. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton California. He was riding his high powered street motorcycle that he had bought the week before. He was going around a corner, lost control, flipped off an overpass  and fell fifty-three feet. He was coming back from visiting his girlfriend, on his way back to camp. In two weeks, he would be deployed to Afghanistan for the first time. During the Funeral, it was taken off and was given to my father and me. My next treasure I will describe to you are my pictures of my uncle. Several of them were from his funeral board. One is in my wallet, the others are on my mirror dresser. Special objects mean a lot. But they mean a lot more when you barely knew the person. My dads biological dad was from Houston, Texas. I met him once before. Then he came up to Nebraska because his treatments for his Cancer were not going good. We went shopping and he bought me a lava lamp. It is ocean blue and blood red.
Next up are my great grandpas golf trophies. Each one is from first place to fourth place. He was an amazing golfer. One is black, another is gold, another is red and so on. They are special to me because he passed away five years ago. He was a WW2 veteran. Next is my amazing Praying Mantis terrarium. I took good care of my Mantis last year because she lived up to 2 3/4 months past the time they die in the wild! She lived that long because I took such good care of her and fed her enough food and she had a good habitat. I named her Mother, because she liked moths and was a girl. I recently caught another one. It has tan arms and a green body. It sits at the top of its terrarium, awaiting his next meal. Last but not least, my challenge coin. My uncles friend down in Houston,Texas is a cop in a suburb. He gave it to me on our trip down to see my biological grandpa. He had a Team challenge to keep all the cops in shape. Shooting, martial arts, football, and so on. He got first. And on my birthday, he could have kept it, but he  gave it to me. I am rich beyond measure.
